Welcome to the Office of Distance and Continuing Education! Hellenic College Holy Cross offers a variety of distance education courses, a fully online Master of Theology degree, and a growing number of continuing education offerings, including our summer Diaconate Program. Expand your theological knowledge and spiritual life, prepare for doctoral work, and connect with others across the globe who share similar goals and paths.
The online Master of Theology (ThM) is a 24-unit program of advanced theological studies (including a thesis) designed primarily for students who already hold a Master of Divinity degree. The ThM program is particularly designed for those who desire to enhance a scholarly dimension in their priestly or ministerial vocations and is especially appropriate for those preparing to teach at the parish level (e.g., priest’s pastoral assistant, Bible study / Sunday school programs), those interested in furthering their theological knowledge and spiritual life, and those intending to pursue doctoral work.
The MTS program is designed to offer a general introduction to Orthodox theology through customizable graduate-level study. Students seeking graduate study in theology often move on to doctoral studies, are deacons or monastics seeking additional theological education, or are lay leaders desiring to serve their parishes by deepening their understanding of the Orthodox faith.
The Kallinikeion Institute at Hellenic College Holy Cross is a remote, intensive Modern Greek language program, offering three courses (Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced). The 2023 program, which is open to both HCHC and non-HCHC students, will run Monday, May 22nd through Friday, June 16. Each student will earn six college credits upon successful completion of the four-week program. Inquire today!
HCHC’s Master of Theology (ThM) degree is awarded the best one-year online master’s degree program by Intelligent, an online platform that provides resources for students and professionals, helping them make informed decisions about education and career development.
